WordPress is the software that builds and manages your website.  It is super easy to install and use.

Now that you have WordPress installed in your BlueHost account, let’s get familiar with WordPress and how it works.

Grab a pen and sheet of paper, as we’re going to quickly map out the major content areas for your new website. A typical small business website has these basic elements:

As you recall, there are two main types of web pages that we’ll create with WordPress: Pages and Posts.  Pages are most often listed on the top level navigation of your website’s theme.  Common Pages for business websites are Home, About Us, Contact Us, Directions, Quotes, etc. 

Remember that Posts are simply a type of web page that resides within a category.  Many Premium Themes will have a separate navigation area to display the categories and often the posts under each category.
